I've officially moved out of Spaces, due to the fact that they never update the features as often as I'd like. Someone should tell that group within Microsoft to adopt Agile Development Methodologies. That'll make them ship features out as they develop them in small bite sized chunks so that we can see some improvement. Google, Flickr and Wordpress does it really well.

Am now in Melbourne, Australia! Quite a nice place, cross between Hong Kong and London. This is my first leg of a long long MEDC 2006 World Tour.  

 

Mike and I are on a quest to find the longest Starbucks drink name and to see if we can order it in all the countries we're visiting. The current longest drink name is one of the following: (Mind you, these are ACTUAL drinks that customers have ordered)

 

 

 

Think you know Starbuckian? try reading that.(if you give up, get the answers from Mike's blog.) The Baristas in Melbourne almost got it right, but they couldn't read it back for us. Oh, and just so you know, the drinks taste AWFUL, esp #2. At least #1 will give you a sugar rush!

Came across this very interesting service through Guy Kawasaki's blog. It's a VOIP service with a twist. It's entirely web activated. You don't need any calling cards, or difficult passcodes to remember. All you need are two phone numbers and this url http://www.jajah.com

 

Once you have an account, all you need is to enter which number you will be calling from and which number you wish to call and jajah will connect the both of you. Simple and elegant and freakishly easy to use. It's one of those, "Why didn't I think of that" services. again proving that you can still improve upon time and tested ideas such as VOIP and making phone calls.

 

Kudos, I'll be cancelling my SURF Rechargeable Internet Phone card now. :)

Got invited to the Gumball 3000 party last night at the Hard Rock cafe thanks to John and Dan from ALK (makers of the wonderful CoPilot Live software for GPS Navigation) who wrangled us in. They were the official sponsors for the Gumball 3000 rally that was held in London, Serbia, Thailand, and till yesterday Salt Lake to Vegas. 120 exotic cars travelling 3,000 miles around the world in 8 days. Simply incredible.

 

we got to talk to drivers, organizers of this amazing rally. You should checkout the GumBall Rally site and stay abreast with the race, watch videos and even track all the racers who each have a Windows Mobile device with the CoPilot software in their cars.

 

This is the 2nd last stop before they drive on to Los Angeles this morning and end the race with a Party at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion. Imagine going for THAT party :) Anyway, we got to see Snoop Dogg perform on stage. It was so loud we couldn't take it after 30mins and had to leave, ears ringing.

Got my new HTC Star Trek and matching Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headset.

 

 

 

The Star Trek is beautiful and so slim. It's even slimmer than the RAZR. Instead of posting my own review, here's a great review about this phone. Only funny thing is that it doesn't have an InfraRed Emitter. *bizzare*

 

It comes with the AKU2 ROM that has A2DP installed for Wireless Bluetooth Stereo headsets. Sound quality is good (not audiophile quality of course). Oh and I almost forgot to mention, it takes a MicroSD / Transflash card. Got a 1gb card in BestBuy which is the only place in the EastSide that carries this size. Fry's doesn't even have it in stock.

 

The phone is also launched in Taiwan by Dopod called the S300 (in chinese). So you can go get one now!

 

 

 

Just happened to come across this site and I figured since I know so many of my friends who have tattoos and want to get one, maybe this will make your day.

 

It's called UV Tattoos, lights up when you hold a UV light near and you won't see any permanent marks in normal light. Pretty cool I would say.
